Meet Coach Kat

Katherine McCormick, known as Coach Kat, is the Founder of Flag Lab and a leader in the growth and development of girls flag football. Through coaching, mentorship, showcases, clinics, camps and strategic partnerships, she has helped create opportunities for athletes across California, Florida and beyond.

Originally from Finland, Coach Kat's journey as an athlete, coach and entrepreneur has fueled her passion for empowering female athletes and expanding the game of flag football. Today, her work extends beyond training, focusing on athlete development, exposure, leadership and creating pathways for the next generation of female athletes.

Coach Kat has worked alongside high school programs throughout both California and Florida, supporting athletes and coaches through skill development, team training, leadership initiatives and program growth.

As the sport continues to expand, Coach Kat remains committed to supporting athletes, coaches, and programs at every stage of development. Through her work with schools, organizations, and communities, she continues to advocate for greater opportunities, visibility, and resources for girls flag football.
